I would say class discousion. You can see all the peoples point of view. Like you can see what other people go through instead of read it from a paper. You can hear the tone in there voice unlike in a paper. And personal story's.
A lot of people think I'm not smart because I play football. But I like history, I love it like I find it very interesting. People would never know that. Also people think I'm mean. Like people are scared of me, I don't really like that its hard to make friends when people are scared of you. But its whatever they will have the notion in there head that I'm mean and dumb. I just have to ignore it.
The inspiration for this poem was that people judge me. They assume instead of ask. I get fed up with it but its whatever now because its going to keep happening. And whatever I do I know I'm not going to change every ones mind.
I would say when I deiced to play football. My parents knew what it was but they didn't understand the rules because they are immigrants and they didn't have that there. So they believed the consumption that I would become dumb and have cte and wouldn't be able to talk. But they somehow let me play it and my entire family was shocked (extended). But it took a while getting used to for them I think they understand most of it expect the rules.
I felt alone on my first day at lakeside only knowing about 20 people from all grad es in a school with 2k people. I had 3 people I know in class all in first period. I had just transferd here this school year. I'm in either freshman or senior classes which is so annoying because nobody is mature (expect for the seniors) but they will leave at the end of the year and I'll be alone, for 2 weeks just me and my thoughts in 3 of my classes. hopefully the teachers don't make me go to class.
I've adapted to this class and many others by being the only junior in a senior class. It definitely feels weird like at the end of the year I'm going to be alone just sitting there. But I try to keep my mind off that and on getting through the class and having fun while doing it. But it sucks that I cant take classes with other juniors. It's so annoying that my conuslar keeps putting me in higher classes since freshman year.
Me being Christian. Me playing Football. Me having diverse friends. People only think white and black people are Christian and not mixed kids. Not a lot of children with immigrant parents play football. usually they would play soccer especially where they are from. If you saw me you would think I only have one type of friends but I really have like every type of people that are my friends from white to black. But a lot of people to think you only have one group of friends with race. but when your mixed what do you do. Summary: we talked about race and watched videos Reflection: Rachel is to me crazy. And also how crazy there history is and how people look white that could be black.
I would say the biggest part of my identity is definitely being born in America. Also being born in Georgia learning about football from the people around me. Also how my mom and dad taught me about there cultures. But I would say being Catholic is the biggest part of my identity. It has definitely helped me shape into other things I like.
Prompt response: I would say one meaningful tradition we do is we celebrate Christmas Eve like it's Christmas. We open presents on the 24th at 12AM instead of the next morning. I don't really know why but I like it because I get gifts a day early. We also get gifts for each other instead of Santa. Well my mom still trys to convince me Santa is real but we know he's not real.
Go to the playoffs in football hopefully have a winning record while doing that. Probably can't have less than 3 losses to do that (while playing 10 games). With that being said we have to stay together as a team and hopefully win through difficult times. Another goal I have is to get an offer. Hopefully multiple from playing football. An offer is a scholarship from a college usually a full ride. So that is my 2nd goal my 3rd goal is getting stronger. I want to hit 315 by the end of this semester, while I'm at 275 right now I cant really bench press because were mainly focused on the field and there is no time to workout. By the end of the school year I want to do like 315 for 6-8 which is definitely possible. With getting stronger I want my power clean up to at least 225.
